The major focus of MediaNet was targeting multimedia communications and audio-visual content distribution services for residential markets. MediaNet addressed new & more open possible supply chain architectures and co-operation schemes between content owners, service providers, network service providers as well as personal computer and consumer electronics equipment manufacturers.

MediaNet was carried out within the european Information Society Technologies 6. Framework as IST - Project N° FP6-507452.
